Compliance, Hand-back, Pre-Contract and Pre-Adoption Inspections
Stainton Lighting Design Services Ltd (SLDS) offer an independent, lighting installation compliance inspection service.
Our experience survey team supported by our design office, can undertake survey's at interim stages and/or completion of a project to ensure your specification requirements have been met.
Compliance Inspections - SLDS have wide experience in undertaking compliance inspections during the delivery of a project to ensure the clients needs are being met by the contractor. Inspection includes cover lighting level verification in line with TR28, construction visual inspections, witnessing testing, sign face retroflectivity and specification compliance.
Hand-back - This would cover similar items to the compliance inspections but is typically undertaken at the point the contractor is substantially complete and would focus on items which are indicated as complete. This inspection would have a key deliverable of a detailed report, outlining any defects, non-standard items, sub-standard workmanship and remedial actions. We have demonstrated on a number of projects that this detailed inspection being undertaken prior to contractor leaving the site can significantly reduce conflict within the final months of the contract.
Pre-Contract - SLDS can undertake visual lighting and electrical asset surveys to provide information, relating to existing on site assets which could be utilised in scheme development. Typical items include, asset condition, asset specification, indicative cable routes, including road crossings (where possible using cable identification device), scheme hazards, sign face retroflectivity and recommendation of remedial action. Additionally, we have experience in the production of condition asset reviews for exterior decorative features lighting, where in addition to the above items we can inspect control infrastructure.
Pre-Adoption Inspections - We can undertake impartial pre-adoption inspections typically associated with Section 38/278 agreements, inline with client design standards and industry best practice to ensure your suites are safe and to standard prior to you taking the maintenance liability.
Our team can attend site at any point of the project and can be used by local authorities for assistance during project construction to ensure ongoing compliance or post construction. SLDS will fully inspect street lighting installation for quality / safety and overall compliance with the authority specification and design guide.
