Mandy joined the team at Stainton Lighting Design Services in 2012 as a lighting engineer.
Mandy started out in the lighting industry in 2001 as an applications engineer at Urbis Lighting providing lighting design for all types of urban environment as well as the provision of architectural lighting of structures. She progressed to Senior Regional Engineer in overseeing all lighting designs and customer orders for the Northern region.
Following on from this she moved on to work at Atkins Ltd as Lighting Engineer undertaking various major lighting projects including sections of the M25 and the M56 producing full lighting design, specification and electrical design.
While at Atkins Ltd, Mandy was seconded to Gateshead Council to help manage their Invest to Save project, involving the replacement of all lantern units across the borough.
In her current role, Mandy carried out the design for relighting the A69, West Denton. Due to the close proximity of Hadrian’s Wall and the possibility of unknown historical items, there had to be close liaison with the English Heritage, DBFO and THE Highways Agency with regards to the position of lighting columns and cabling.
Mandy is an Affiliate member of the ILP and is currently working towards membership.
