Andrew commenced his career as an Electrical Apprentice at ICI Wilton in 1987. After leaving ICI he worked as a JIB Installation Electrician for various companies including James Scotts, Redpath Engineering Services, Lorne Stewart, Dimewest (working for Northumbrian Water) and BKE.

He worked as an electrician for David Webster a street lighting contractor working mostly on the Stockton and Middlesbrough Council contracts. Carrying out maintenance, electrical testing/fault finding and installation work. He had various roles at David Webster including Civils Supervisor, Contracts Supervisor and Contracts Manager. It was in his time at David Webster that he gained his HNC in Electrical Engineering.

He had the role of Lighting Engineer at Hambleton District Council from 2006 – 2007

Andrew joined the team at Stainton Lighting Design Services (SLDS) in 2007, specialising in highway lighting and signing.

In this time at SLDS, Andrew has carried out lighting and electrical design work for Sunderland PFI (Aurora), A19 DFBO and Stockton Borough Council. He has worked alongside Mike Curtis on the A19 Joint Venture Agency contract, Dishforth to Tyne Tunnel Electrical Support Service Management for lighting and signing maintenance.

Andrew is an Associate Member of the Institution of Lighting Professionals (AMILP) and Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council (Eng Tech).

Andrew is currently pursuing becoming a Member of the Institution of Lighting Professionals.
